Mooneyham Junction

May 9, 2015

This weekend, we performed at historic Mooneyham Junction in Billings, Missouri. The Mooneyham family began hosting bluegrass and country music shows in this Quonset-style barn in 1962. Musicians from all over the Ozarks performed here for enthusiastic audiences.

Today, their daughter Sybil Mooneyham Ryan continues the tradition of live music monthly from April through October. For more information about Mooneyham Junction and pictures from the early shows, visit their website.

All the Time

We stopped by Janet Davis Music recently on our way to the recording studio. While at the store, we played this new Irl Hees song, All the Time, for the JDM staff.  This is one of the tunes that will be on our upcoming CD project titled Home.

The Heart of the Ozarks

September 27, 2014 -- This weekend, we performed at the Heart of the Ozarks Bluegrass Association's (HOBA's) Fall Bluegrass Festival in West Plains, MO.

On stage Friday night.

Jamming after the show

Saturday morning, we visited
Mammoth Spring State Park,
30 minutes south of the festival.

9 million gallons of water per hour
flow from the spring and over this dam
to create the headwaters of the Spring River.

By the Spring River,
just below the dam

We also toured this restored 1886 Frisco Railroad depot,
located near Mammoth Spring.

With so much history and natural beauty, it's easy to see
why some call this area The Heart of the Ozarks.

Jamming in Bentonville

September 6-7, 2014 -  We had a good time in Arkansas this weekend. Friday night we performed at the Slaughter Pen Jam Music Festival on the square in downtown Bentonville.  Then Saturday afternoon we played at Slaughter Pen Hollow Park for the mountain bike festival.

In the Mountains

August 30, 2014 - This weekend, Lonesome Road returned to one of our favorite places, Jasper Arkansas, to perform at the Newton County Bluegrass Festival.

Between shows, we had time to sightsee.  After a scenic 20-mile drive, we took a short hike at Sam's Throne Recreation Area. The scenery in this part of the state is simply breathtaking!
